EFS LAUNCHES NEW FIRE UNIT

Elmira Farm Service (EFS) launches new business unit, EFS FIRE, and the new EFS FIRE CHIEF -a fire fighting / search and rescue UTV - developed for use by both rural and urban fire services in Ontario.
"This is a very exciting venture for EFS," states Paul Horn, Consumer and Commercial Equipment Manager in charge of EFS Fire and the development of the EFS Fire Chief. With almost 10 years of experience on a rural fire force Horn can appreciate the complexity and difficulty in providing fire fighting and search and rescue measures in remote or confined areas.
The EFS Fire Chief is the result of combining the strengths of three industry leading companies; ODG - an Ontario based company and a world leader in the production of all terrain, semi-amphibious vehicles; known widely as ARGO; CET, a Pierreville, Quebec based firm and industry leading producer of fire apparatus; familiar to most fire services in North America; and EFS, a leading equipment dealer in South Ontario - featuring the complete product line-ups from John Deere, Stihl and AGRO.
'Teaming up with ODG and CET has allowed us to create and bring to market a unique machine, which has the potential to assist fire services with a wide array of functions," says Horn.
The EFS FIRE CHIEF comes equipped with a custom removable poly tank, which holds 80 US Gal / 300 L of water, and a 5 US Gal/ 19 L suppression foam tank. The onboard CET fire pump and Scotty foam induction system make the EFS Fire Chief capable of fighting car, grass or small crop fires. The EFS FIRE CHIEF has the ability to transfer victims with an on board Junkin basket, as well as act as means to easily get tools such as the jaws-of-life to the scene more easily.
"The EFS Fire Chief will be a great tool for the Fire Service in Ontario, and we're looking forward to getting our demonstration unit out show what it can do," says EFS Governmental Sales Specialist Jamie Stanners.
